A while ago, I went over to St. Therese to set up forthis evening’s Vigil Mass of the Epiphany. Though the drive over wasn’t bad - by the time I left Richmond to head back to Scipio, the steps at the church entrance, the windshield of my car, and the road back home was already covered with ice. Out of concern for everyone’s safety, I think it is best to cancel Mass forthis evening- and if the storm continues to intensify overnight, as predicted, to also cancel Masstomorrow morning. I will be leaving a message on the office phone with this announcement, and will attempt to post it on our website. If you have the time and are able to spread the word via your social media connections, please do so. If you do not lose power, take a few moments to read the Bulletin online:stbonifacesttherese.com , take a few moments to read and reflect on the Scriptures for the Mass of the Epiphany (Isaiah 60: 1 - 6; Ephesians 3:2 - 3a, 5 - 6; and Matthew 2: 1 - 12) or online with a reflection at: www.usccb.org , and spend a few moments in prayer, meditation and discernment on how the Lord continues to make His presence known in your life, as He was made known to the Magi…..and how each of us can make His presence known by our lives. The Mass intentions: In thanksgiving for the 50th Wedding Anniversary for Lester and Barbara Wuertzat 5 PM, and for James Miller at the9 AMMass will be rescheduled - but I also would like to recommend that we also pray for them!
If you must be out in this inclement weather, please be extra cautious for your own safety and the safety of others. Thank you for your understanding, and may God bless us all!
